This park encompasses 4,200 acres of land and includes a 850-acre reservoir. This oasis in the Denver metro area allows for a wide range of activities including picnicking, camping, swimming, hiking, biking, equestrians, fishing, water-skiers, boating (marina), nature study, model airfield, horseback riding (at 12 Mile Stables), shooting sports center, and off-leash dog area. This park is home to a variety of wildlife including white-tailed and mule deer, coyotes, foxes, pheasants, rabbits, and a variety of resident and migratory birds (including American White Pelicans).

This state park has 28 miles of trails that welcomes hiking, running, dog walking, biking and equestrians.

There is a fee to enter this park or you can get a State Park Pass to visit any of Colorado's 41 State Parks as many times as you want, for one year.
