Chautauqua Mountain, Trail Information, (Monument, CO)
Chautauqua Mountain rises steeply above the Monument Creek valley just west of Monument, Colorado. The trail climbs through forested slopes to rewarding viewpoints overlooking the surrounding foothills, the Monument area, and portions of the Front Range.
With its steady elevation gain and scenic mountain setting, this trail is best suited for hikers and trail runners looking for a moderately difficult outing close to Monument. While this trail is shorter in distance (2.10 miles roundtrip), the climb can be strenuous in places, but the expansive views make it a worthwhile destination.
