Ice Cave Creek Trail, Trail Information, (Monument, CO)
The Ice Cave Creek Trail is located in the Rampart Range west of Palmer Lake and Monument, Colorado. Beginning from the Palmer Lake Reservoir trail system, the route climbs through a scenic landscape of pine and aspen forests, rocky slopes, narrow drainages, and distinctive granite formations.
The trail can be combined with nearby routes to create a longer loop and offers impressive views across the Palmer Lake area and surrounding foothills.
Despite the trail’s name, the small ice formations or “ice caves” associated with the area can be difficult to locate and may vary with seasonal conditions. Portions of the route are steep, rugged, and less clearly defined than heavily developed recreation trails, making a detailed trail map especially valuable for route-finding and identifying connecting trails.
