Mt. Esther Trail Information - in the Pikes Peak Region of Colorado
The Mount Esther Trail, located near Colorado Springs, Colorado, offers a rewarding hiking experience with scenic views and diverse terrain.
The Mt. Esther Trail can be accessed from either Chipita Park or from the Pikes Peak Highway (Crow Gulch Trail). From Chipita Park, the hike begins with a challenging climb up steep switchbacks for about a mile, gaining nearly 1,000 feet in elevation. Upon reaching the top, the trail flattens out, leading hikers through lush meadows and mixed forests. The area offers expansive views of the Ute Pass, Pikes Peak, and the quaint mountain town of Green Mountain Falls. For those seeking a longer hike, this trail connects to the Ring the Peak Trail system, allowing access to Crystal Creek Reservoir and Catamount Reservoirs.
