Palmer Red Rock Trail (Section 16) - Information (including videos)

The Palmer Red Rock Trail (also known as the Section 16 Trail) in Colorado Springs is a popular hiking route known for its stunning views including red rock formations, city views, and views of the mountains to the west.

The trail meanders through diverse terrain, including both uphill climbs in semi-shady terrain to dense forest solitude with numerous scenic overlooks. The trail is considered moderate to moderately difficult.  It offers fantastic opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing, with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The trail is well-marked and provides a great way to experience the natural beauty of the Colorado Springs area. Both hikers and mountain bikers enjoy this trail which is also part of the Ring the Peak Trail system.
