Colorado's Extremes: Warmest, Highest, Darkest, Snowiest, Deepest, etc.

The Centennial State of Colorado has the highest elevation and the third deepest canyon in the United States.

But that's not all.  The state of Colorado has many extremes. From some of the darkest dark skies, 10 of which have been designated as International Dark Sky Parks.  A reservoir dam in Colorado that has recorded the hottest temperature ever in Colorado at 115 degrees. A ski resort that has recorded an average annual snowfall of 430 inches. And a mountain peak that is the highest peak in the lower 48 states at 14,440' above sea level.
