MacNeill Trail Information - Pikes Peak Region - Colorado

The MacNeill Trail starts out on Old Stage Road and leads up the back (west) side of Cheyenne Mountain to its shoulder, just short of The Horns. Great views of Colorado Springs and the eastern plains reward those who reach the top.

This is a beautiful trail, that does not get high levels of traffic, and once you arrive on the shoulder of Cheyenne Mountain the views are fantastic.

The MacNeil Trail is predominately located in the Pike National Forest, however the top of trail is on private property (on the Broadmoor's Cloud Camp property).  Watch for private property signs and turn around when you see them (do not trespass).  "The Horns" are no longer accessible from this trail.

All Pocket Pals Trail Maps offer very detailed information for each trail including: trail distances, allowed trail uses, difficulty levels, elevation profiles, total ascent/descent, directions to trailhead, trailhead longitude and latitude, and waypoints (landmarks along each trail).

Detailed information for this trail and others can be found on Pocket Pals Trail Map #1 from the Pikes Peak Region Series.  Other trails detailed on this trail map are:  Devil's Slide,  Emerald Valley Pipeline, Gray Back Peak, Knights Meadow, Mt. Vigil, Ridge, San Luis Peak, St. Peter's Dome, and Sugarloaf Mountain.
