Mt. Buckhorn Trail, Pike National Forest - Colorado (including Photos & Videos)

The Mt. Buckhorn Trail is a fabulous trail that does not get the high levels of use that many of the other trails in North Cheyenne Canon Park get.  In addition, because of its southern exposure, it is a great trail to hike in the winter time as it does not hold onto the snow as long. This trail connects to the Captain Jack's Trail, a very popular mountain biking, hiking and off-road motorcycle trail. Captain Jack's (Trail 665/667) is a multi-use trail so please be aware of, and considerate of all trail users.

This trail can be found on POCKET PALS Trail Map #3 in the Pikes Peak Region Series. The other trails included on Map #3 are: Bear Creek Canyon, Bruin, Captain Jack's (665/667), Columbine, Daniel's Pass, Mt. Buckhorn, Mt. Cutler, Mt. Muscoco, Ring the Peak RTP (Segment 9-10B/C), Seven Bridges (622), Silver Cascade Falls, Spring Creek, Stratton Open Space (14 trails), St. Mary's Falls, Strawberry Fields (6 trails), Sweetwater Canyon, and Trail 624.

All Pocket Pals Trail Maps offer detailed information for each trail including: trail distances, allowed trail uses, difficulty levels, elevation profiles, total ascent/descent, direction to the trailhead, trailhead longitude and latitude, and waypoints (landmarks and their distances along each trail).

This map is also available in digital format to be loaded onto your mobile device. When used with a free app it will allow you to see your current location directly on the map (your location is marked by a blue icon).  LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR DIGITAL MAPS HERE.
