Mueller State Park is a Colorado State Park encompassing over 5,000 acres located just west of Pikes Peak near Divide.
Mueller State Park is a mountain retreat of rolling meadows, dense forests, and sweeping vistas of the Rocky Mountains. The park is home to a variety of wildlife habitats, including aspen groves, ponderosa pine forests, and alpine meadows, making it a popular spot for wildlife viewing, especially elk, mule deer, and black bears. The park boasts over 55 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, with many offering panoramic views of Pikes Peak. Year-round recreation is available, including hiking, camping, picnicking, winter snowshoeing, sledding, and cross-country skiing.
The park has 132 campsites (both tent and RV-friendly), along with three furnished cabins available for rent. Reservations can be made in advance through the Colorado Parks & Wildlife online reservation system or by phone. A daily vehicle entrance fee is required (currently $10 per vehicle), or visitors can use an annual state parks pass.
At the heart of the park is a modern Visitors Center, featuring interpretive exhibits, a gift shop, and helpful rangers who provide maps, programs, and area information. With its scenic landscape, variety of trails, and well-maintained facilities, Mueller State Park is an ideal destination for both day-trippers and campers seeking to explore Colorado’s Front Range in a tranquil, natural setting.
